Who We Are

Learn more about where we've been and where we're going

How it all started...

Oak Hill Baptist Church has been a fixture in Pulaski county for over 100 years. Through the years, Oak Hill has grown from the 18 charter members in 1895 to an average weekly attendance of over 800 people. Each and every week men, women, and children from Somerset and the surrounding community gather to love, grow, and serve together.

While there is much history to reflect on and be thankful for, OHBC is committed to looking ahead. We strive to make Jesus’s command to “go and make disciples” the center of all that we do at Oak Hill--both locally and abroad. In the summer of 2016 we added a new state-of-the-art children and youth building and are currently in the process of updating our existing facilities to better accommodate the needs of a growing ministry.

There is no doubt that God has been generous to OHBC. We are grateful for our history and excited about our future.

Expanding the vision...

At Oak Hill, discipleship (spiritual formation) is summed up in three words: Love, Grow, and Serve. Everything we are becoming as thriving followers of Jesus can be included in these areas. We invite you to join us in the journey of loving God in worship gatherings, growing together in small groups, and serving others in volunteer ministry.

Where we are headed...

We are excited to invite you to a community of people who love Jesus and love you. Whether you are searching for a church home or simply exploring the claims of Christ and faith in general, we invite you to come and be a part of what is happening at Oak Hill Baptist Church. We are a people who are adventurously expectant of what God is doing and will do in our lives and the community around us. Whether you attend in person or online, you will find this church to be a welcoming place for you, your family and friends, regardless of what you have been through or are going through in life.

There is a place for you here at Oak Hill.
