Believe

The Gospel of Jesus

" If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes and is justified, and with the mouth one confesses and is saved."
Romans 10:9-10

Faith in Jesus

God's heart and desire for you is that you would accept His son, Jesus Christ, as your Lord and Savior. We call this "salvation." Perhaps you have heard it described as being "saved." What does this mean? Saved from what? Why do you need to be saved?
Three things are important for you to know:
  1. You are a sinner.
  2. You cannot save yourself.
  3. Only Christ can save you.
The Bible says, "All have sinned" (Romans 3:23). That includes each and every one of us. The Bible also says, "The wages of sin is death" (Romans 6:23). This kind of death is spiritual and eternal.

We cannot save ourselves from this death by our good works, by church membership, or by trying to be good. The only way to be saved from penalty is to get rid of our sins.

Salvation

Salvation is a gift from God to man. Man can never make up for his sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can man be saved from sin's penalty. Eternal life begins the moment one receives Jesus Christ into his life by faith.

What does the Bible say about Salvation?

Romans 6:23 - "For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Ephesians 2:8-9 - "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast."

John 14:6 - "Jesus answered, 'I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'"

John 1:12 - "Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God."

Titus 3:5 - "he saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit,"

Galatians 3:26 - "So in Christ Jesus you are all children of God through faith,"

Romans 5:1 - "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,"

How Can I Be Saved?

Good news! Jesus provided the way by dying on the Cross. In doing this, He took your place and suffered your punishment. When you ask God to forgive your sins and believe Jesus died for you, God accepts you for Jesus' sake, your sins are forgiven, and Jesus becomes your Savior.

But something else happens... You become a child of God. A child of God? What does that mean? Look at it this way. When you were born as a baby, you received natural life from your parents. Because of this you are like them, you have many of their characteristics.

When Jesus becomes your Savior, He brings to you new life, spiritual life, life from God. The Bible calls this the "new birth" (John 3:3). By your first birth you became a child of your earthly parents; by your new, or second, birth you become a child of God, your Heavenly Father.

New Life Found In Christ

If you want to make a confession of faith and start your journey with God right now, all you have to do is repent of your sins and believe in Jesus as your hope for Salvation and everlasting life.
You can pray a prayer of salvation like this:
Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner, and I ask for Your forgiveness. I believe You died for my sins and rose from the dead. I turn from my sins and invite You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust and follow You as my Lord and Savior. In Your Name, Amen.

Remember, it's not the words of the prayer that save you; it's the repentance and faith in your heart that lay hold of salvation. If you prayed that prayer today, Congratulations! Please let us know by filling out the form below. We'd love to get to know you.
