Join the women of OHBC for our Spring Banquet, “Dancing in the Rain: Finding Joy Amidst Life’s Storms.” Life doesn’t always unfold the way we expect, and seasons of difficulty can leave us discouraged and weary. Yet Scripture reminds us in James 1:2–3 to “Count it all joy… when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness.” Together, we will gather for an evening of encouragement, fellowship, and biblical truth as we discover how real, lasting joy is not found in the absence of storms, but in the faithfulness of God who walks with us through them. We look forward to a meaningful night of connection and renewed hope.

Our Speaker
Dr. Melissa Tucker
Dr. Melissa Tucker is honored to return to Oak Hill Baptist Church — the church where she grew up and where her faith and love for ministry first began to take root. Oak Hill has always been home, and it is a joy for her to come back and share with the women of this church family.
Dr. Tucker currently serves as Chair of the Department of Education at Boyce College and is in her tenth year of teaching and mentoring future educators. With more than 23 years of experience in education, she has taught in public schools, served as an administrator in Christian education, worked as an adjunct professor at Liberty University, and spent two years living in Russia teaching English using the Bible as her primary textbook.
Since 1988, she has traveled internationally to partner with churches in developing children’s and women’s ministries. Her time serving overseas strengthened her conviction that the classroom and the local church are powerful places of influence for Christ.
Dr. Tucker is passionate about servant leadership and equipping others to reflect Christ’s love in every sphere of life. Through every season — both joyful and challenging — the Lord has remained faithful.
We look forward to hearing her encouragement as she shares on “Finding Joy Amidst Life’s Storms.”
